Hi Im vinylmatt I started mixing when I was 13, I had some soundlab dlp3's, worst decks ever, however I learnt to mix on them. Then for my 15th Bay I got 1210s and a brand new Gemini ps-626 mixer. When I got on the 1210s I noticed the difference it was like where have you been all my life. Once I got settled on the 1210s I started doing parties for my friends every weekend. After a couple of months of parties I just started to get addicted to the crowd and want more & more, so I joined DJ college where they taught me how to program a set and design my own flyers etc. They also set up a night @ Cahoots & the Boomerang each week to gain experience. Then after 1yr the tutor asked us to do our final 30 minute set and the student with the most overall points for all his mix tapes finished top of the class and won a guest slot for 2 hrs @ heaven & hell on Easter weekend all nighter, My heart was racing on the last day all day, then came the results...... I won. I couldn’t believe it my dreams were coming true. Once I did the set I got that feeling again for more, more, more!!!! So I just kept getting as many nights as I could Insomnia, Sanctuary, The Residence, Bar B,The Cube and Club Ampersand.I just kept doing this until I reached 22 then I decided I want more knowledge about music so I went and did a course in Electronic Music Production @ SSR.I am currently making my own tracks. I should have it on myspace soon.
