I've always had a penchant for electronic music. It was instilled in me from years of listening to my parents music, such as Tangerine Dream, Howard Jones, Nick Kershaw, and Jan Hammer to name a few. But not all was electronic however, even Lionel Richie can drop a mean synth chord in between his crooning if you listen for it! Fond memories of my first personal stereo and Jarre's equinox works and a now worn out copy of Yello's, Stella album (OH YEAH!) are probably where all this lunacy began.
Living in Hastings with that most legendary venue, the pier, was also fortuitous. Never a month went by without going to one 'rave' or another which introduced me to timeless classics like 'Integration', 'Magic Orchestra' and the mighty 'Mentasm'.
In the early 90's I started to dj, playing in local clubs with Rob Kinetic and things couldn’t have been better. However work constraints always kept me from bigger things, and for the next decade spent my time playing at small gig's and 'house' parties. Throughout that time playing Belgian techno, early British breaks and bleeps, oldskool (before it was called oldskool!) and drum & bass.
Slowly the mixture of all these styles led me to Electro House, mainly due to it having the structure and speed of Belgian, sounds and samples from D&B, with a selection of bleep and breaks thrown in for good measure! Also now being in the enviable position of work being able to fit round my Deejaying means Stu N is finally unstoppable!
