The semi finalist of the 'Heineken Thirst Competition' of 2004 was
Marco D’la Rossi , one of the best names on the electronic music scene
in the south of Brazil. Djing for more than 12 years , Marco migrated
from rock to electronic music – keeping his rock style – and specializes
in minimal, electroclash and electrohouse.He has performed at many
renowned clubs in Brazil such as ‘D-Edge’, ‘Manga Rosa’,
‘Ibiza’ (Balneario Camboriu), and also huge events like
‘Love Parade’ and ‘Megavonts’. As a resident DJ in club Ibiza,
Marco performed together with other top DJs – like Tiesto, Oliver,
Anton Fielding, Scot Project, Ultra Voice, Gee More, Larry Tee and
Jimi the Sun – and consecrated his unique sets, involving and full of swings
making it irresistible for the dance crowd to stand still.
His great vibrations have livened up Brazilian nights ever since.
Most well know he was invited to remix the cd ‘Ibiza Verano 2005’ by
Building Records and began to see his work blossom as it became a
best-seller all over the country. Marco is also a music producer and the
first track he produced was `45RPM part 1`, an energic house track.
It is part of the soundtrack of the Brazilian movie ‘O Invasor’ and it was
awarded 'best original soundtrack' at the ‘Cinema Festival of Berlin’ in
2002. After that, Marco produced ‘Enseada Azul’ which caught the
eye of Italian DJ Andrea Kappa, who remixed it, including the track on
‘Dance Traxx Compilation’ and released this in Italy in 2004.
Since then Marco has been working on the production of new tracks.
In 2006 he launched ‘Seda’ – a track with strong electro influences –
and ‘Flying Saucers’ which is part of the ‘Annual Brazilian Collection’
by Bralli Records and reached the 4th position
on the best sellers of the week on the webshop ‘junodownload.com’.
Besides remixes for Alex Gopher, U2, Miss Kittin and Snow Patrol,
Marco is also the ‘Ananas Recordings’ frontman producing both tracks from
Brazilian and international producers and his own material. All those
recent productions can be found and are available at the webshops 'Juno'
and 'Beatport' and they have been reaching respectable top seller
positions for a number of weeks, like `Medo’ and ‘Breakfast in Paris’ which
has been the 2nd best selling download for the last few months.
