I started dj'ing from the age of 13, though i had no idea how to mix i was mesmerised by the 1989/1990 hardcore scene and the whole thing that surrounded it.
For the first time people were really into the dj and it kinda felt like home behind those horrid belt driven/pitch by twiddly knob decks that probably were donated by a dj who played a lot of jive bunny!
However i loved it and all that developed with it.
in 92/93 i was flitting between luton and plymouth and was enjoying the old Exodus raves and some mad devon and cornwall warehouse stuff whilst playing many venues between towns.
i played a few clubs including a residency at 33 and peach nightclub whislt training to be a studio and live sound engineer ,,,,im a bit of a dinosaur now as far as studios are concerned back then it was 16 track half inch reel to reel and an atari running cubase 1.1 lol
Then i went to spain for a bit playing pachas magaluf if i could i'd go back, soon after returning home i was burgled and all my dj stuff that was dear to me was stolen
so years later i recouped my tune collection though some of the irreplaceable stuff was gone and embarked playing harveys and the shoes in luton, i was there 2 years fri sat sun night and some midweek stuff though all my cd's were bootlegged and the old inspectors threatening dj's with confliscating your entire cd collection and fining the bar owner 20 grand i had to go.
now im back pc djing and saving for a decent cd based system that i can incorperate my laptop.
heres hoping no more disaters !! LOL and no more dodgy clubs in the arse end of booze ridden barmy army holiday resorts.
i love house music, anything dancy i love mashups and remixes and really enjoy whats going on right now in the house scene and on the net.
any ideas what programs to use to make my own mashups will be much appreciated
