Kevin J. is a native New Yorker who became inspired by the New York dance scene in the late nineties. Before the age of 17 music had no real meaning to him and was just a form of entertainment not often heard.

After graduating high school and going to college he was introduced to a new form of music by his new found friends. Never before did he hear of house music. “ I was always listening to hip hop and Caribbean music cause that’s what I grew up on, but I just thought it was fun to listen to once in a while that was it “. This new form of music became so grand to him that it even made him change his views on life. After about 4 yrs of going clubbing at New York City legendary clubs like Twilo, Vinyl and the Sound factory he went out and bought a pair of turntables and a mixer and was hooked



After that it was nothing but hard work and countless hours and hours of practice, always striving to be just as good as his idols. Guys like Jonathan Peters, Danny Teneglia, Erick Morillo and more. In 2004 Kevin J landed a residency at Opia lounge. He has also done guest spots around NYC and Long Island at places like Blue Tequilla, Wall St. , Neva, Angel and Sapphire, Luehan, Le Souk, Avalon, Gypsea Tea and Flow. Currently Kevin J spins Live every Wednesday 6pm to 9pm on WWW.ANTIFMRADIO.COM He is also in the studio all day long working on fresh new beats to keep him satisfied. Keep a look out for new releases on labels like Tronic B7, Indalo, Pure Substance Digital & Da Sound records.
