David Ortega AKA Dave Lock was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1975. Music was always one of his interests. In 1989 he moved to Tucson Arizona USA where in 1994 he attended his first underground house and techno music events. He fell in love with electronic dance music from the first beat. He promoted for local event promoting companies and in 1995 he decided to become a dj collecting Goa Trance, Hard Trance and Progressive House vinyl. In early 1996 he obtained his first job as a DJ at the Casbah Tea House in Tucson where he worked for 8 months getting paid in tea and Arabic sweets. Due to his success at rocking the Casbah, I started promoting drug free Goa Trance Events sponsored by the City at the bi-weekly street fair with a group called the Third Eye Unity Project and an online record store he worked for called 23% records. He mixed under the Dj name Baba Squeeb. Pushed underground by differences within the group and the uncooperativeness of the local authorities and the fact that 23% records went out of business in early 1998 he started playing Hard Trance and Progressive House in illegal parties and a few raves from 1997 until 2000. He also changed his Dj name to Dj Ollin. In 2000, financial difficulties forced him to return to Mexico after a 20 year absence. Now for the last five years he has lived in relative obscurity in his homeland, collecting Music like a madman mainly in the progressive house, progressive psy-trance and microhouse styles and refining his Djing and Production Skills. He also quit playing vinyl in favour of the more "disposable" cd format. In 2002 he started getting serious about producing and started learning how to use sequencer programs and soft sinths. Now he produces in a variety of styles, but mainly progressive house with a bit of an acidic twist. I occasionally play at a party or two. As a Dj he changed his name again to Dj Grin. He played an online Radio Show in 2005 called "Moving Darkness" hosted by www.djzone.gr, a Greek web. His sets can be found online on several sites including www.progressivehouse.com and www.mixupload.com. He plays a party or two now and then.
