Moataz Mamdouh, also known across the electronic music community as DJ Yokou, started playing the keyboard at the age of only eight. But he soon realized that this is not the way to play that awesome music he heard on the local radio. A little research revealed to him the awesome realm of turntables, multi-channel mixers and chest thumping bass booster.
Please give it up for DJ Yokou", these were the words of the radio announcer as he first introduced DJ Yokou to the Egyptian capital, now, only a year later, he's becoming a frequent spinner on the radio, which is both streamed on the internet and via satellite.
"Mood creating", this is how his music is described, by carefully selecting his play list from the latest tunes worldwide, his mixes are swiftly becoming one of the most heard in his hometown, Cairo. When asked about how he has become so known is such a short time his exact words were "always stay updated".
