The beginning is always the best place to start. I was always a big record collector, always running out to all the record shops to find as much of the latest dance music. One night I was out at a favorite night spot and the DJ got sick. The manager asked if I could take over for him, I knew nothing about being a DJ, I didn't even know how to work the equipment. I got a CRASH COURSE on the equipment that night. The DJ left his records for me to use. I picked up a song I don't remember what it was. I let it fly as the reel-to- reel was ending. To my surprise the crowd screamed and cheered. I was hooked right then and there. On the way home I began to think. Could I do this? Could I become a DJ? The very next day I went out and bought myself 2 turntables and a mixer. I practiced every night after work for a few months. I got my neighbors pretty pissed off, because I use to play the music kind of loud, but that's another story.
