After that first party he and his parents thought that he would become something huge in music. So for a while he started going to more parties and what would he do, he would stare at the dj booth for the whole time. He always imagined him rockin' the crowd.
After awhile he stopped thinking about dj'in for a very long time 2-3 years and when his friends all had bar and bat mitzvahs he would just stare at the dj booth and make requests. He really found that most mobile djs were really A$$ holes, they never wanted to listen to what he requested even if the music was hot stuff.
So after staring at the dj booth all his life he met a friend who was a dj and they would go to Sam Ash together and look at all the equipment. When he went up there he was so amazed at all the equipment and all he said was "huh I thought you only would need something simple to dj just like a high quality cd changer." But he was all-wrong he saw all these great companies Pioneer, Numark, Technics, and Denon. For about an hour he would be scratching (of course it sounded like crap he had no clue what he was doing).
So after that day he went on the internet and looked up all the companies, study them so when he went to his next party he would talk to the dj and say "how you like em' Denons?" The dj would always laugh and say how do you know all about equipment and thats how it all started.
REMIX HOTEL- June 3-5 2005
It all started here when he walked into Remix Hotel, a convention that was for djs, producers, and remixers. He didn’t know anything about equipment, he didn’t know how it worked, how to even turn things on, off. So when he walked into the Denon booth, he met DJD-Fi, Silvio, DJ SHY, and Juan (don’t worry he wouldn't forget you guys)
from Denon In these three days he learned so much he couldn't wait to get equipment. He learned every single thing about Denon products and how they work. He also learned from other Denon reps.
The day had come and he ordered his equipment. He still didn't know the basics of dj'in, such as scratching and beat mixing. He didn’t even know there was beat mixing. He remembered a good friend of his from Remix, DJ Angel. Angel taught him how to beat mix and would constantly come over to his house to practice with him and show him some excellent techniques. To this day Angel and A Smooth are still very close friends and see each other to practice or even just to fool around since he has improved so much.
Now, DJ A Smooth is practicing every day to make himself even better. He has done two semi parties at his school. But now he wants to do real gigs for events such as Bar Mitzvah, house gigs, birthday parties, etc.
